Phú Quốc National Park

Phú Quốc National Park (Vietnamese: Vườn quốc gia Phú Quốc) is located on Phú Quốc Island in the Kiên Giang Province of Vietnam's Mekong Delta Region. The park covers about 70% of the island. It includes both land and sea areas and protects sea animals such as dugongs.

It includes both land and sea areas and protects sea animals such as dugongs. The park was created by a government decision on June 8, 2001, which changed the status of the Northern Phú Quốc Islands Preservation Zone to Phú Quốc National Park.

Location

Phu Quoc National Park includes the Northern Preservation Zone of Phú Quốc Island, Ham Rong Mountain, Ganh Dau, and Cua Can. The park is located within the communes of Ganh Dau, Bai Thom, Cua Can, and parts of the communes of Cua Duong, Ham Ninh, Duong To, and Duong Dong Township in Phu Quoc District, Kiên Giang Province.

Areas

The park has a total area of 31,422 hectares. This includes 8,603 hectares that are strictly protected, 22,603 hectares used for biological restoration, and 33 hectares designated for administration and service.
