Kelimutu National Park

Kelimutu National Park (Indonesian: Taman Nasional Kelimutu) is located on the island of Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The park includes hills and mountains, with Mount Kelibara (1,731 meters) as its highest point. Mount Kelimutu, which is famous for its three colored lakes, is also part of the park.

The park includes hills and mountains, with Mount Kelibara (1,731 meters) as its highest point. Mount Kelimutu, which is famous for its three colored lakes, is also part of the park. This natural area is a popular place for visitors.

The park protects several endangered plant species, including Toona spp., Anthocephalus cadamba, Canarium spp., Diospyros ferra, Alstonis scholaris, Schleichera oleosa, Casuarina equisetifolia, and Anaphalis javanica. Endangered animals found here include the Javan rusa, wild boar, red junglefowl, Elanus sp., and drongo sp. (Dicrurus sulphurea).

Four mammals that are found only in this park include two types of montane rodents: Bunomys naso and Hainald's rat (Rattus hainaldi).

The park also has an arboretum, which is a small jungle area covering 4.5 hectares. This area represents the plant diversity of Kelimutu National Park. The arboretum includes 78 types of trees grouped into 36 families. Some of the plants collected there are native to the park, such as uta onga (Begonia kelimutuensis), turuwara (Rhododendron renschianum), and arngoni (Vaccinium varingiaefolium).
