El Palmar National Park (in Spanish, Parque Nacional El Palmar) is one of Argentina's national parks. It is located in the center-east of the province of Entre Ríos, in the middle between the cities of Colón (54 km away) and Concordia (60 km away). The park covers an area of about 85 square kilometers and was established in 1966 to protect its unique yatay palm trees (scientific name Butia yatay, formerly known as Syagrus yatay).
The park has a temperate-humid savanna ecosystem, which is common in the Argentine Mesopotamia region. The land has areas with palm trees of different species, grasslands, small woods, and forests. Streams flow eastward into the Uruguay River, crossing these areas. The local wildlife includes woodpeckers, ñandús, foxes, viscachas, and capybaras.
