Mayumba National Park (French: Parc national de Mayumba) is a national park in southwestern Gabon. It is a narrow strip of land with beaches, dunes, savanna, and rainforest in the far south of the country, between Mayumba and the border with the Congo. The park includes 60 kilometers of the most important nesting beaches for leatherback turtles on Earth. It has special coastal plant life and is home to many land animals, such as forest elephants, buffalo, leopards, gorillas, chimpanzees, antelopes, crocodiles, hippos, and several types of monkeys. The park also extends 15 kilometers into the ocean, helping protect marine habitats for dolphins, sharks, and migrating humpback whales. It is Gabon's only national park that is mainly focused on marine areas.
