Bidoup Núi Bà National Park

Bidoup Nui Ba National Park (Vietnamese: Vườn quốc gia Bidoup Núi Bà) is located in Đam Rông and Lạc Dương districts of Lâm Đồng province, Vietnam. The park was created in 2004 and is named after the two tallest mountains on the Langbiang plateau: Bidoup, which is 2,287 meters high, and Nui Ba, which is 2,167 meters high. The park covers an area of 70,038 hectares and is one of the five largest national parks in Vietnam.

Flora of Bidoup Nui Ba

The park is home to more than 1,933 types of vascular plants, which include 96 species found only in this area and 62 species that are rare. These rare and endemic species are listed in the IUCN Red List from 2009. The park also contains more than 14 out of 33 conifer species found in Vietnam. These include several rare and endemic species, such as two-flat-needle leaf pine, five-needle leaf pine, and Himalayan Yew (Taxus wallichiana).

Fauna of Bidoup Nui Ba

The park is home to more than 441 types of animals with backbones from 30 different groups and 98 families. Thirty-two of these species are on the IUCN Red List of Endangered Species, including rare animals such as the pygmy slow loris, black-shanked douc, yellow-cheeked gibbon, Asiatic black bear, Dhole, Giant muntjac, Owston's civet, and others.
