Montaña de Santa Bárbara is a rocky mountain that stands alone. It is located next to the Ulúa-Chamelecón Plain on the north and near Lake Yojoa on the west. The area has different types of forests: tropical dry forests in the low areas, moist forests at medium heights, and montane and cloud forests at higher elevations.

The mountain’s highest point can be reached from the southeast side, starting at the village of Los Andes.
