Minami Alps National Park (南アルプス国立公園, Minami Arupusu Kokuritsu Kōen) is a national park located in the Akaishi Mountains of the Chūbu region on the island of Honshū, Japan.
The park was created on June 1, 1964. It is located along the border of Shizuoka, Yamanashi, and Nagano prefectures. The park is 55 kilometers (34 miles) long and up to 18 kilometers (11 miles) wide, covering a total area of 358 square kilometers (138 square miles).
The park is a mountainous area centered on the Akaishi Mountains. It includes several high peaks, such as Senjō-ga-take, Kita-dake, Aino-dake, Shiomi-dake, Arakawa-take, Akaishi-dake, and Hijiri-dake, all of which are over 3,000 meters tall.
The park protects the sources of the Fuji River, Ōi River, and Tenryū River.
Plant life in the park includes large areas of Japanese beech, Japanese stone pine, and hemlock spruce. The largest animals found in the park are kamoshika. Birds such as ptarmigans are also present. The park has few public facilities, and the only way to reach it is by hiking.
Other large animals in the park include Asiatic black bears, wild boars, and Sika deer.
