Sapo National Park

Sapo National Park is located in Sinoe County, Liberia. It is the largest protected rainforest area in the country, the first national park established in Liberia, and has the second-largest area of primary tropical rainforest in West Africa after Taï National Park in neighboring Côte d’Ivoire. Activities such as agriculture, construction, fishing, hunting, human settlement, and logging are not allowed in the park.

Taï National Park

Taï National Park (Parc National de Taï) is a protected area in Ivory Coast that holds one of the last remaining sections of old-growth rainforest in West Africa. It was added to the list of World Heritage Sites in 1982 because of the variety of plants and animals living there. Five mammal species in the park are listed as threatened: the pygmy hippopotamus, olive colobus monkeys, leopards, chimpanzees, and Jentink’s duiker.

Kainji National Park

Kainji National Park is located in Niger State and Kwara State, Nigeria. It was created in 1978 and covers an area of about 5,341 km² (2,062 square miles). The park has three different areas: part of Kainji Lake where fishing is not allowed, the Borgu Game Reserve to the west of the lake, and the Zugurma Game Reserve to the southeast.
