Montagne d’Ambre National Park is located in the Diana Region of northern Madagascar. The park is famous for its unique plants and animals, waterfalls, and crater lakes. It is 1,000 km (620 mi) north of Madagascar’s capital city, Antananarivo.
Masoala National Park, located in the northeast of Madagascar, is the largest protected area on the island. Most of the park is in the Sava Region, with a small part in Ambatosoa. Established in 1997, the park covers 2,300 square kilometers of rainforest and 100 square kilometers of marine areas.
Isalo National Park is located in the Ihorombe Region of Madagascar, in the southwestern part of the Fianarantsoa Province. The nearest town is Ranohira, and the closest cities are Toliara and Ihosy. The park’s landscape is made of sandstone that has been carved by wind and water erosion into rocky hills, flat plateaus, large open areas, and canyons as deep as 200 meters (660 feet).
Ankarana Special Reserve is a protected area in northern Madagascar that was created in 1956. It is a small, partly covered with plants plateau made of limestone that is 150 million years old, from the Middle Jurassic period. The area receives about 2,000 millimeters (79 inches) of rain each year.
The Andohahela National Park is located in Anosy, which is in the southeast part of Madagascar. It has a wide variety of different environments. The park covers 760 square kilometers of the Anosy mountain range, which is the southernmost part of the Malagasy Highlands.
Skeleton Coast National Park is a protected area in northwest Namibia. It is known for its difficult-to-reach shoreline, which has many shipwrecks. The park was created in 1971 and covers an area of 16,845 square kilometers (6,504 square miles).
Nkasa Rupara National Park, also called Nkasa Lupala National Park and formerly known as Mamili National Park, is a protected area in Namibia. It is located near the Nkasa and Rupara islands on the Kwando/Linyanti River in the south-western part of East Caprivi. Botswana is to the west, south, and east of the park, and the Sangwali village is to the north.
Mudumu National Park is located in the Caprivi Region of north-eastern Namibia. It was created in 1990 and covers an area of 737 square kilometers (285 square miles). The Kwando River marks the western boundary of the park, which is shared with Botswana.
Khaudum National Park is a national park located in the Kalahari Desert in northeastern Namibia, west of the Caprivi Strip. The park is hard to reach and is home to lions and hyenas.
The Dorob National Park, also called “dry land,” is a protected area in the Erongo region of central Namibia. It was officially established as a national park under the Nature Conservation Ordinance No. 4 of 1975 on December 1, 2010.
