Auyuittuq National Park
Auyuittuq National Park (Inuktitut: ᐊᐅᔪᐃᑦᑐᖅ, “the land that never melts”) is a national park on Baffin Island’s Cumberland Peninsula in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of Nunavut, the largest area in Canada. The park was first called Baffin Island National Park when it was created in 1972. Its name was changed to Auyuittuq in 1976 to better show the area’s connection to the land and its history.
